The Smiling Gainey

Just another WordPress.com weblog

For any Toronto fan that’s still clueless as to why fans of every other Canadian team despises Hockey Night in Canada, check out this video from the 1993-94 season opener:

Hmm…OK, well they threw in the Desjardins OT winner in the montage…then some Leafs goal celebration (probably the Gilmour goal against St Louis), followed by a couple of clips of Keane and LeClair getting pasted along the boards. Something seems to be missing, however. Isn’t it fairly common for HNIC to show at least 2 seconds of the Stanley Cup winner actually, you know, winning the Cup? Seems odd to me considering they do it every year.

It’s almost as if you’ve got some bitter Leaf fans running the show…

But we all know that’s not the case…
